This position is part of the Agency Force Protection, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Information Security Specialist, PG - 0080 - 13 , you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-12 or higher in the federal service. Specialized experience includes: Identifying, assessing, and managing operational risk factors. Adjudicating levels of classification for existing and proposed information. Recommending actions for personnel access, clearance eligibility, and safeguarding classified information. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (03/06/2026) to be considered.
Implements, oversees, and provides centralized control of the information and operations security programs.
Performs surveys to certify secure rooms and areas for classified storage, meetings, and conferences.
Advises management on physical security system requirements.
Evaluates plans for facility enhancements to mitigate threats to GPO's classified information.
Plans, develops, and implements personnel and information security programs, policies, and initiatives.
