Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience is defined as: Advising managers on Federal hiring and staffing rules on various hiring flexibilities and opportunities (i.e. veterans, minorities, persons with disabilities, delegated examining, direct hiring authority, promotion and internal placement, non-competitive, or excepted service hiring authorities); OR analyzing and solving complex Human Resources problems by using data and analytical techniques; OR utilizing various Human Resources software systems to support staffing goals. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Leads and executes Human Resources programs for staffing, recruitment, and placement services to meet both long-term and short-term Department of War goals.
Applies advanced staffing, recruitment, and placement concepts, ensuring high customer service standards, especially for difficult-to-fill positions.
Directs staffing/recruitment section activities, ensuring legal compliance, evaluating performance, recommending training, and addressing performance deficiencies
Oversees and promotes understanding of Human Resources staffing and recruitment, ensuring compliance with agency and Office of Personnel Management, Department of War, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and other policies and procedures.
Reviews and analyzes policies and procedures, advising management on the impact of proposed changes and recommending improvements.
