This position is located in Prince William Forest Park, in the Building and Utilities Division. The selectee will perform recurring building and or utility and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of the Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Ability to Interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The major duties of the Maintenance Worker WG-05 position include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and related utilities. Assists higher graded maintenance workers or tradesmen in the performance of their work. Performs routine maintenance on campground sites and trails using hand tools to re-grade and reset barriers to restore areas to original appearances. Collects trash. Cleans and services chemical toilets, restrooms, and other campground or visitor facilities. Makes minor repairs as needed and refers problems to higher graded workers. The major duties of the Maintenance Worker WG-07 position include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform recurring building and or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeyman and other higher graded maintenance workers. Utilize knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. The duties described by this position may not fully meet the type of work to be performed or there may be work that this position does not do in each of the specialties; however, if the general intent is met then this position is appropriate.
