Job Description:

You will serve as the C40 Department Chief Engineer/Scientist in the Undersea System and Sustainment Engineering Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading the technical design, test and evaluation, and in-service engineering and lifecycle supportability requirements for Undersea Warfare Systems and Platforms. You will oversee and evaluate system development, integration, and production efforts, and ensure integration of disciplines such as project management, logistics, quality, information technology, and research efforts.
You will work to develop organizational structures and policy to ensure technical rigor for mission execution.
You will oversee training, mentoring, and engineering certification/qualification programs for personnel within the department.
You will resolve engineering, safety, and technical issues as they arise, and manages communication and notification to senior leadership within and external to the Command.
