Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the FLEET TECHNICAL SUPPORT (FTS) DIVISION of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical and administrative guidance and assessment of complex ship systems and overall ships' readiness and capability by investigating, analyzing and recommending corrective action for problems pertaining to the maintenance and modernization of shipboard machinery and systems. You will supervise branch employees including military, GS-12 and GS-11 Mechanical Engineering Technicians, Electrical and/or Electronics Technicians.
You will plan work to be accomplished, set priorities, and approve work schedules prepared by subordinates.
You will assign work based on priorities, nature of assignment, and employees' capabilities.
You will develop new position descriptions as required and develop ranking factors for job announcements/vacancies
You will identify developmental training needs of employees, taking appropriate steps to provide same.
You will manage the efforts including Direct Fleet Support by utilizing Distant Support and onboard technical support if necessary.
You will support pre and post deployment Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA) or Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Combat Systems (C5RA) visits to assess the condition/safety of all equipment and recommend repairs.
You will receive requests for technical assistance from the above Commands, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC), Forces Afloat and Shore Based Activities and determine which requests can be accomplished and establish priorities for accomplishment.
