This position is located at MWR Sports/Athletics Sports Branch, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii (Island of Oahu). Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Minimum Qualifications: 1. Demonstrated ability and experience or education to perform the duties of the position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Highly Qualified Criteria: 1. Must possess a minimum of one (1) year experience in the delivery of runs and races to include creating, developing and executing multiple runs and races of various distances. 2. Possess a bachelor's degree or higher degree from an Accredited College or University in Health and Fitness related fields such as Physical Education, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology. 3. Must possess a national recognized Basic Personal Fitness Trainer Certification (i.e.: National Academy of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise, American College of Sports Medicine, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, Cooper Institute, etc.). 4. Possess a minimum of one (1) year experience creating, executing and managing a Program (Facility, Department) financial budget. NOTE: Applicants who met both minimum qualifications and highly qualifying / best qualified criteria will be referred to the selecting official for consideration first. Serves as the fitness coordinator responsible for the execution and development of the installation fitness program.
Evaluates existing programs, researches and studies new fitness developments and adapts to current program.
Instructs patrons in the components of total fitness (wellness). Develops course curriculum and lesson plans.
Coordinates with other installation health and fitness professionals.
May administer and interpret a simple non-stress screen test/health risk assessment.
