Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NAVAL ARCHITECT in code 250.6, Structural Engineering/Planning Division of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer planning and coordinating ship or submarine maintenance, repair, modernization, or overhaul projects to ensure technical accuracy and timely completion. You will provide ship design services of detailed specifications, test requirements, calculations, and software for developmental and applications designs for structural and mechanical work on various ship platforms.
You will provide long range planning to ensure accomplishment of required branch work such as: identifying projected workload, manning needs, training required, acceptance or rejection of special projects, recruiting, and overtime.
You will review and assume responsibility for final technical adequacy and timely completion of the work performed by project engineers.
You will provide all necessary managerial and administrative duties associated with the operation of the branch such as: branch training procedures, accelerated training for advancement, summer hire, and apprentice training programs.
You will serve as a consultant engineer and principal advisor to the Structural Engineering and Naval Architecture Division Manager on all cognizant matters concerned with technical features of ship design.
