Job Description:
You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer of the Test Engineering and Planning Division, Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: professional engineering experience providing technical or programmatic direction in the planning or execution of engineered maintenance projects on naval ships or submarines. You will manage, plan, and execute the overall test program for all ship and submarine work assigned to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
You will serve as the principal technical advisor and expert to the Chief Engineer concerning matters of submarine and ship safety and testing on non-nuclear systems.
You will ensure the timely development, review, and issuance of all test procedures, prerequisite lists, and test sequences to assure timely test and event readiness.
You will provide leadership to successfully coordinate the entire non-nuclear test program on all shipyard assigned availabilities to include satisfactory control of sequence and authorization of all non-nuclear work authorization forms.
You will consult with and advise senior Shipyard managers and Ship’s Force Commanding Officers on matters related to the test program
You will interpret and execute NAVSEA and local requirements pertaining to the safe operation and testing of ship systems.
You will supervise Branch Head level supervisors who perform work control, test planning, test execution and certification functions.
