You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Non-Nuclear Welding Branch, Code 138.2, Welding and NDT Division, Code 138, Quality Assurance Office, Code 130 of PSNS and IMF. This announcement is for an Upward Mobility Program position.

You will conduct studies and tests to establish procedure specifications for welding and its allied processes used in the fabrication and repair of hull and structural components and piping components for nonnuclear or nuclear applications.
You will provide consultant services on production problems, facilities and equipment requirements.
You will conduct tests on new welding materials, equipment, and processes to determine whether they are suitable for production welding and meet specification requirements.
You will Interpret NAVSEA technical manuals and conducts experimental testing and development projects to establish standards for insuring quality in the metal joining process.
