Job Description:
This position serves as a Human Resources Specialist, located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division (JMD), Office of Human Capital (OHC), in Washington, D.C.. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Human Resources Specialist in applying the full range of all payroll/personnel processing matters for OHC's customers.
To qualify for the position of Human Resources Specialist, at GS-0201-12, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Provide advisory services in human resources related to payroll services; 2) Utilize human resources payroll personnel action processing tools or systems (i.e. NFC, EmpowHR, GovTA); And 3) Provide training on payroll and personnel action processing. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 04/06/2026 of this announcement. The duties and responsibilities for a Human Resources Specialist, GS-0201-12, generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Serve as a contact for payroll, time and attendance sheet, or processing systems Respond to a variety of personnel payroll questions Assist with and advise on complex payroll cases/issues Conduct special studies and works on projects, which address pay and personnel processing and problems/issues Prepare statistical data for comparison/trend analysis purposes and analyze various pay reports to identify problems and trends
