Job Description:

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operates complex mechanical and electronic instrumentation and data acquisition systems; 2) Maintains laboratory equipment and test systems: 3) Creates detailed drawings for experimental apparatus and test articles using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks); 4) Fabricates aerodynamic models, test fixtures, and other experimental hardware using a variety of materials and tools; and 5) Provides technical guidance to students on the data collection, analysis, and set-up of experiments for academic courses and research activities. You will support the operation of testing in wind tunnel and rotorcraft laboratory environments.
You will design, set up, calibrate and operate complex mechanical and electronic instrumentation and data acquisition systems to collect experimental data.
You will troubleshoot, maintain and repair laboratory equipment and test systems to ensure operational readiness and safety.
You will assist with and provide technical support for projects involving Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), drones or RC aircraft.
You will develop designs and create detailed drawings for experimental apparatus and test articles using CAD software (e.g.. SolidWorks).
You will work from engineering drawings, sketches and oral instructions, to produce high -quality components for academic and research projects.
You will instruct and assists midshipmen and faculty in the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and software.
You will ensure a safe working environment by enforcing all safety protocols and procedures within the laboratory spaces.
