This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Lead planning teams to analyze missions, customize force packages, and support decision-making processes. Ensure priorities align with agency policies by evaluating strategies and providing recommendations. Prepare and present high-level briefings, reports, and justifications. Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a OPERATIONS PLANNING SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Develop, coordinate and implement matters related to future operations, plans, policy and strategy as they relate to the agency. Prepares mission orders such as warning orders, operations orders, fragmentary orders, deployment orders, or letters of instruction. Develop, maintain and revise Continuity of Operations (COOP) plans, and provide input to agency COOP/Emergency Management planning. Research and analyze problems, issues, or program requirements and propose viable solutions. Offer technical expertise on planning systems like JPP (Joint Planning Process) and JOPES (Joint Operation Planning and Execution System) to enhance operational efficiency.
