This position is located at West Point MWR Recreational Swim. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Must hold a current Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certification. The certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position. 2. Within 6 months of hire, must obtain a pool operator's license. 3. Must have 12 months experience in pool operation as a lifeguard with experience in swimming instruction and pool maintenance. 4. Must be able to use sound judgement, accomplish tasks within established time frames, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner. 5. Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports. The above experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": 1. Possess a Lifeguard Instructor Certification. 2. Possess a Waterfront Lifeguard Certification The certification must be reflected on your resume and your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
As head lifeguard, oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluated pool operation efficiencies. Assists manager by insuring adequate staffing of operations with personnel and the safety of users.
Directs lifeguards as required in the performance of their duties. Performs checks and makes adjustments in water quality levels and insures that the pump rooms are maintained and operational.
As a head lifeguard, supports the management team in decision making and responding to concerns of guests and users. As a lifeguard, responsible for the life guarding of guests. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
Coordinates and conducts aquatic swimming and water survival training. Attends and arranges for the conduct of aquatics and safety training. Maintains peak physical condition.
Carries out work in accordance with policies, regulations, directives, and requirements. Exercises judgement on routine matters where discretion is permitted. Keeps manager informed of events or items of significance.
