Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: In addition to possessing all necessary certifications, specialized experience for both levels must demonstrate the following: lead and direct work associated with fire suppression and prevention, emergency medical treatment and ambulance transport services, emergency communications, and public education and training services. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will serve as Supervisory Firefighter responding to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team.
You will assure work assignments are completed by Firefighlers, Driver/Operators and Emergency Dispatch Operators.
You will be responsible for analysis of any particular emergency situation to establish lifesaving medical priorities without medical advice or directions.
You will participate in training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire prevention, fire protection, and emergency medical services.
You will prepare reports for supervisors concerning fire runs, training, fire inspections and other projects as assigned.
You will work closely with other supervisory firefighters on the opposite platoon to ensure a smooth orderly and complete transition of day.to-day operations.
You will assume the position of Incident Commander at all emergencies/incidents until relieved by the Supervisory Firefighter GSĀ·11 or Fire Chief.
