This position is located in Gulf Islands National Seashore, in the Facility Maintenance Division.
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Performs simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, building, equipment and related utilities. Assists higher graded maintenance workers or tradesmen in the performance of their work. Performs minor carpentry repairs using simple measures and hand tools. Performs minor plumbing repairs. Performs routine maintenance on campground sites and trails. Receives and unloads shipments using a forklift. Operates a light truck to pick up supplies and transport materials to and from work sites. Cleans and services restrooms and other campground or visitor facilities.
