To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements. Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related. Graduate education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience utilizing data base management systems to identify statistical trends; experience with electronic storage, electronic publishing, and electronic distribution of agency directives. Experience in data collection techniques and processes, and in reviewing and analyzing reports, statistics, and budget information. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical statistics, inmate designation information, and the Privacy act. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience. Serves under the direction of the Chief, Medical Designator. This section is responsible for the medical classification of inmates; the management of their medical and custodial requirements for care, and the designation and transportation of inmates in need of medical and/or mental health treatment. Assists the Medical Designator(s) by developing, analyzing, evaluating, advising and improving the effectiveness of all computer and information systems to produce information and documentation systems for appropriate medical designations, transportation, and cost analysis. Prepares necessary reports on inmates hospitalized in local community hospitals. Initiates appropriate action when necessary to manage hospital admissions as they pertain to the designation and transportation process.
