Job Description:
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY MECHANICAL ENGINEER in the Fluid and Mechanical Engineering and Planning Division (Code 260) of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer developing design specifications and implementing design application for ships or submarines undergoing overhaul, modification, conversion or repair. You will provide all necessary managerial and administrative duties associated with the operation of the Branch, including Technical, Schedule and Budget oversight for all engineering documents that are prepared/issued in the branch.
You will review completeness and accuracy of complex engineering calculations associated with various types of shipboard problems and repairs.
You will serve as an engineering technical consultant and principal advisor to the Division Manager, on all cognizant matters related to the design and repair of deck machinery and hydraulics.
You will implement and monitor training and development plans for all personnel in the branch and complete formal employee performance evaluations.
