About the Position: The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, headquartered in North Chicago, IL, is a jointly staffed command, staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 66 military processing locations (Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS)/Remote Processing Stations (RPS)), determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services. Position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, including: Tracking internal/external taskers and disseminating appropriate personnel for action; Maintaining documents utilizing various computer systems to compile and retrieve data; utilizing various systems/software applications to support command staff (e.g., managing calendars, completing timecards, preparing travel orders, preparing/editing documents/correspondence, spreadsheets, graphic charts, etc.); Troubleshooting technical computer access issues and elevating to service desk if unable to resolve. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify for this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). If you are a current Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. As a Management and Program Assistant, you will:
Support Directorate staff in various programs, processes, and projects.
Collect, analyze, and assist supervisors and management analyst in analyzing a myriad of data categories (e.g., measurement indicators and trend data)/.
Assist personnel in access, use and updates in various applications (e.g., command's intranet site, Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS) and Defense Travel System (DTS).
Provide initial and refresher training to directorate personnel for the task management tool/system (TMT/S).
Receive and assist/direct visitors and telephone calls
Provide a variety of contract related administrative and support duties to directorate requirements owners
Prepare and submit administrative reports and documentation (e.g., significant events report when required; numerous recurring and special reports, and update to the Command Group).
