This vacancy is for a GS-1152-13, SUPV PROD CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, ALC INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION -IOD INDUSTRIAL PROD BR or SHORT RANGE RECOVERY PRODUCT LINE. Duty location will be determined upon selection.
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Ability and knowledge of aircraft or aircraft support related planning, coordinating, and executing of business functions, resource allocation, and production. Ability and knowledge of civilian and military personnel systems and regulations sufficient to meet key requirements of Human Capital and staffing. Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of management with emphasis on the integration of separate functional organizations requiring making, or participating in making decisions as to the impact of changing priorities, attention to work progress and adjustments in plans and schedules; and ability to act quickly and withstand considerable and continuing pressure. Ability to develop and maintain up-to-date information on the measure of performance and decides or recommends what action is required to maintain operational/production schedules. Abilities and skills such as: getting individuals to work closely together effectively and efficiently; developing, maintaining, motivating, and coaching individuals and teams, building consensus within groups. You will serve as a SUPV PROD CONTROLLER (AIRCRAFT) and be responsible for performing General Foreman for multiple subordinate shops, ensuring all personnel, processes, tooling, and equipment to provide aircraft and components are available as demanded by Product Line and Enterprise Production System (EPS). Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing leadership and management of all production trades personnel arranged in a competency structure. Managing personnel, processes, and training necessary to accomplish the mission and enable the personnel in various trades to accomplish their work. Determining and implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant barriers to practices. Executing fiscal responsibilities within established timelines and in accordance with applicable regulations to meet maintenance goals and EPS production recommendations. Resolving issues in real-time to ensure work stoppages do not occur due to labor issues. Formulating long-range plans, composing schedules and coordinating work operations to ensure operations are completed efficiently, applying modern managerial methods and principles to accomplish goals.
