MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates knowledge of the governing supply/property systems, programs, policies, shipping terms, and procedures. Knowledge of work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. Ability to operate a desktop computer and related office machines. Knowledge of business mathematics. Forklift experience preferred. Must have forklift certification or acquire and maintain within one (1) year from date of hire (class provided). Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. required.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Assists the Supply/Property Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating storage, accountability and distribution of appropriated and non-appropriated supplies, equipment, and furniture for MCCS-SC activities aboard MCRD Parris Island, MCAS Beaufort, and Laurel Bay. Picks up/removes assets, equipment, etc. including lifting and moving furniture from respective activities as needed and transports the items to the assigned property warehouse or other designated location. Secures and delivers items as directed using a stake bed truck with liftgate and forklift. Tows and offloads dumpster at designated dump site. Locates, documents, and tags new property assets upon purchase by MCCS activities. Assists with administering the sales process when surplus property is old to the general public or negotiated sales are conducted. Ensures accuracy and consistency of written item descriptions for auction listings. Coordinates pick up of auctioned items with winning bidders and escorts them to property location on base for pick up. Prepares assets for DRMO (Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office) including date entry and documenting serial and tag numbers. Conducts inventory spot checks as directed. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists internal and external customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Maintains cleanliness and proper organization of property warehouse. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
