This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Perform surgical technician duties in support of the Operating Room Service.
Transport patients from hospital units to the Operating Room.
Perform scrub technician duties such as selecting, assembling, and organizing required supplies, equipment, and instruments for specific surgical procedures.
Perform circulator duties such as obtaining sterile supplies, sutures, dressings, and linens.
Perform operating room maintenance duties such as cleaning the operating room after surgery, decontamination of instrumentation and operation of sterilization equipment.
