About the Position: Leads advanced modeling, collaborating with technicians and engineers on design and repair projects. Uses deep engineering knowledge to plan, size, and arrange complex equipment and develop initial designs. Maintains expertise in 3D modeling software and industry standards.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using computer aided engineering tools, such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop engineering products within an engineering team environment. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
Develops detailed design layouts and 3D models from basic sketches and available project information.
Leads modeling efforts, creating preliminary and final plans, evaluating feasibility, and solving design challenges.
Reviews designs for accuracy and compliance, and guides others in best practices for 3D modeling.
