The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the supervisor providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over supervisory and nonsupervisory employees assigned to the 48 Cyberspace Test Squadron. Responsible for performing professional scientific and management work in support of projects/programs.
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Science and Engineering. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level or band (NH03) or equivalent pay scale (GS13) Specialized experience is described as: performing professional scientific and management work in support of projects/programs pertaining to supporting the development of Department of Defense (DOD) and commercial Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Test and Evaluation (T&E) plans, processes, and policies to include RMF Assess and Authorize (AA) strategies, and Aircraft and Munitions developmental testing. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Professional knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices required to support one or more of the following mission areas: C5ISR, Space, and/or Aircraft & Munition Weapon Systems, and subsystems Test and Evaluation. This position requires the attainment of a cybersecurity certification (i.e., Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification or equivalent). 2. A diverse background of experience and knowledge in one or more of the following mission areas: systems acquisition process, network/system development and integration, cybersecurity and/or cyber resiliency T&E, and the system engineering processes. 3. Knowledge to test and evaluate complex programs to ensure system cybersecurity requirements, interfaces, test capabilities, and program factors are considered in planning, monitoring, and reviewing the system artifacts, the system engineering documents, and RMF system security plans as part of the acquisition process. 4. Experience in and the successful test execution of one or more of the following mission areas: Cybersecurity and/or Cyber Resiliency T&E of C5ISR Systems, Space Systems, Aircraft & Munition Weapon Systems, and subsystems in an operational environment. 5. Knowledge of AFMC procedures and methods of operating with industry, operational commands, and other DOD agencies. 6. Knowledge of and ability to perform human resource management ensuring EEO objectives, professional development, safety regulations, and diversity and inclusion requirements are met. 7. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the flight personnel. Serves as the cybersecurity and/or cyber resiliency T&E subject matter expert in one or more of the following mission areas: C5ISR, Space, and/or Aircraft & Munition Weapon Systems and Subsystems. Represents the organization with a variety of installation, functional area organizations, and other DOD agencies across the AF. Represents the Squadron in cybersecurity discussions and participates in government installation and other functional area organizational meetings.
